Hike a trail at Table Rock State Park for a view of the foothills that will take your breath away. For a tad more strenuous adventure, connect to the Foothills Trail at Table Rock and follow the path to Sassafras Mountain, the highest elevation point in SC, which offers visitors an aerial view of a vast mountainscape covering everything from Tennessee to North Carolina. The view cannot be beat, and best of all- it’s also accessible by car!

Another stunning view that is easily accessible by those of all ages is Twins Falls (aka Eastatoe Falls). This massive double waterfall is only a fifteen minute hike from the parking shelter. The upper fall flows a stunning 75 feet over a gigantic slab of granite, turned beautiful colors by the continuous flowing waters.

Want to try something you’ve never done? How about whitewater rafting and canopy zip-lining over the Chattooga River! A comfortable drive from town, Wildwater Co. offers rafting and lining combos for a day filled with new experiences. If you have some time leftover, stop by the Botanical Gardens on the way back into town. Walk an easy trail through an array of exotic plants and blooms and end your day with a tour of the Bob Campbell Geology museum.
